Our History
The College of Agriculture - Tikrit University was established in the academic year 1993-1994, initially comprising only two scientific departments: the Department of Plant Production and the Department of Animal Wealth Sciences. Afterwards, centralized admissions to the Department of Plant Production were suspended, and the college shifted its focus to specialization in various agricultural scientific fields. New departments were introduced, including Food Science, Field Crops, Horticulture, Garden Engineering, Soil Science and Water Resources, Economics and Agricultural Extension, Plant Protection, and finally, Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Department.
To be the leading college among its counterparts in the country, with its scientific staff, graduates, and the provision of consultation, research, and community service.
To enrich the community with scientific talents and competencies through graduates, and to provide rigorous research and consultation services to farmers and agricultural project owners.
The college aims to prepare specialized scientific personnel in all fields of agricultural sciences to contribute to the improvement and development of food manufacturing, animal wealth, increased plant production, and efficient utilization of natural resources in the region and throughout the country. Additionally, it aims to provide consultancy services in all specialized agricultural fields.
Teaching
College of Agriculture academic programs integrate the disciplines food, Animal Production, Nutrition,a dn Physiology, Cops Physiology, Production and Breeding, Agricultural Economy and more, as well as sensory and consumer science, at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Instruction is hands-on, industry focused, and grounded in research.
Extension and Outreach
Outreach connects the resources of the College of Agriculture with community members, industry, and institutions by offering the latest, applicable research-based, practical agriculture science education.

College of Agriculture is a Research College. Students from first-year students to doctoral candidates participate in meaningful research in our labs. Collaborative multidisciplinary signature areas, as well as underlying cross-cutting research themes of agriculture sciences.
