President of Tikrit University Receives the Commander of Salah al-Din Operations

The President of Tikrit University, Prof. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, received in his office today, Monday, Lieutenant General Abdulmohsen Hatim Al-Abbasi, the Commander of Salah al-Din Operations, along with his accompanying delegation.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, the University President welcomed the visiting guest, expressing his deep appreciation for the great role played by the security forces and their sacrifices in maintaining security and stability, and in protecting citizens and state institutions.

 

Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf provided a brief overview of the university’s current status and its academic progress, highlighting its colleges and research centers. He emphasized that Tikrit University is considered an important academic institution in the governorate and is prepared to offer scientific and academic expertise to various departments and institutions across the province to help enhance performance and community service.

University of Tikrit Conducts Awareness Activities as Part of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week

In alignment with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Research and Development regarding the implementation of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week program, and under the patronage of the President of the University of Tikrit, Professor Waad Mahmood Raouf, several colleges at the university organized a series of awareness activities aimed at promoting understanding of the dangers of drug abuse and reducing its spread within society.

 

The College of Education for Humanities carried out an open awareness tour across the university campus. During the tour, students received guidance on the health, social, and security repercussions of drug abuse, along with explanations of preventive measures and ways to reinforce positive behavior among young people. The tour also included the distribution of educational posters throughout campus to strengthen preventive awareness.

 In the same context, the College of Islamic Sciences held an awareness seminar titled “Dangers of Drugs,” which highlighted the serious impacts of drug use. The seminar featured three main sessions:

  • The first session, delivered by Professor Jaleel Mohsen Wanas, addressed the causes and factors contributing to drug abuse.
  • The second session, presented by Professor Mahmoud Younis Hamada, focused on the health and social effects of drugs.
  • The third session, led by Assistant Professor Abdullah Najm Abdullah, discussed prevention and treatment strategies to curb the spread of this phenomenon.

Meanwhile, the College of Petroleum Process Engineering organized a specialized awareness course on the risks of drug abuse, shedding light on its impact on youth and the role of educational institutions in fostering a culture of prevention. The course emphasized the importance of continuous awareness efforts to safeguard students from negative behaviors foreign to society.

 

These activities reflect the University of Tikrit’s commitment to its educational and societal role in promoting health awareness and preventive behavior among students, as well as its contribution to combating social issues that threaten young people. The initiatives align with national efforts to build a conscious and resilient society capable of protecting itself from harmful behavioral risks.

President of Tikrit University and Governor of Salah al-Din Follow Up on Paving Works Inside the University Campus as Part of Urban Development Projects

Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, President of Tikrit University, accompanied by Mr. Badr Al-Fahal, Governor of Salah al-Din, inspected today the ongoing paving works inside the university campus, which included the road extending from the staff gate toward the Social Center and the Female Dormitory Complex.

 

This field tour comes as part of the urban and service development plan currently underway at the university, aimed at improving infrastructure and providing a modern and safe campus environment that facilitates the movement of students and vehicles within the university grounds.

 

During the visit, the President of Tikrit University affirmed that these works come as a continuation of the service projects being implemented by the university with direct support from the Salah al-Din Governorate and the Reconstruction Fund, noting that the cooperation between the two sides has resulted in the implementation of several projects that serve the interests of students and staff alike.

 

For his part, the Governor of Salah al-Din praised the efforts of the Tikrit University administration in developing the urban and service reality within the campus, stressing the local government’s keenness to support educational institutions and provide the necessary resources to enhance the level of services, thereby strengthening the academic environment and supporting the educational process.

 

At the conclusion of the tour, both parties expressed their commitment to continuing joint cooperation to implement new development projects within the framework of the urban expansion plan, in line with the university’s future vision of advancing academic and service performance.

Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs Receives Two Students from the Syrian Arab Republic within the “Study in Iraq” Program

Professor Dr. Hassan Hussein Ibrahim, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, received two graduate students from the Syrian Arab Republic as part of the “Study in Iraq” program, which aims to strengthen academic cooperation and scientific exchange between Iraqi and Arab universities.

 

The two students are Ghassan Taleb Ali, admitted to the College of Dentistry for a master’s degree, and Raneen Salman Ali, admitted to the College of Education for Humanities / Department of Educational Psychology.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Hassan Hussein welcomed the two students, emphasizing the university’s commitment to providing an appropriate academic and research environment that supports their educational journey. He pointed out that the “Study in Iraq” program represents an important step toward academic openness and enhancing the reputation of Iraqi higher education in regional and international forums.

 

For their part, the two students expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the university administration for their warm welcome and support, affirming their eagerness to benefit from the university’s academic expertise and participate in research and scholarly activities.

President of Tikrit University Welcomes the University Football Team After Winning Third Place Among Iraqi Universities

Tikrit University has added a new achievement to its athletic record after its football team secured third place in the Iraqi Universities Championship, which saw the participation of 62 universities from across the country.

 

On this occasion, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmood Raouf, President of Tikrit University, welcomed the university’s football team in his office. During the visit, the team members presented the third-place trophy to the President as a token of their pride in representing the university and achieving this honorable result.

 

The President congratulated the team on their outstanding performance, praising the great efforts they exerted throughout the tournament. He emphasized that this victory reflects the spirit of determination and perseverance among Tikrit University students and showcases the university’s continuous support for student activities.

 

Dr. Raouf also reaffirmed his commitment to developing university sports and encouraged the team to keep striving for even higher rankings in future championships.
