Under the patronage and in the presence of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Imad Hamid Ahmed, and with the participation of Professor Dr. Hassan Hussein Ibrahim, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, the Department of Art Education organized a scientific awareness seminar entitled (Self Development) on Monday, 5/1/2026, at Al-Khwarizmi Hall.
The seminar, moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Yassin Faraj Yassin, Assistant Lecturer Ghaith Adnan Khalil from the Northern Technical University – Kirkuk, and Assistant Lecturer Samar Ahmed Khalaf, aimed to shed light on the concept of self-development and its importance in building an individual’s personality at both the academic and professional levels, developing personal abilities and skills, enhancing self-confidence, and achieving balance between the scientific and practical aspects of students’ lives.
The seminar also discussed mechanisms for self-development, personal planning strategies, and the impact of continuous development in keeping pace with the requirements of the modern era and the labor market, in line with the university’s vision of preparing students who possess competence, awareness, and the ability to adapt to contemporary changes.
The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members and students who actively engaged with its topics through discussions and questions, emphasizing the importance of holding such awareness activities that contribute to raising intellectual and cultural awareness and strengthening the university’s role in human development and capacity building.
As part of his continued interest in strengthening institutional identity and supporting cultural and artistic initiatives within the university, the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, viewed this morning the symbolic artwork produced through an initiative by the Women’s Affairs Division at the University Presidency, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine, and installed in the University Presidency building.
His Excellency listened to a detailed explanation of the concept of the artwork and its symbolic meanings, expressing his high appreciation for this creative work. He praised the efforts made by the Women’s Affairs Division and those responsible for this distinguished initiative, commending the active role of academic women in contributing to the cultural and aesthetic landscape of the university, alongside their scientific and educational role.
The artwork, executed and painted by Assistant Professor Dr. Umayma Ibrahim Mohammed, a faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine, embodies a profound artistic vision that reflects the image of Iraq crowned with the symbolism of knowledge and learning, clearly signifying the university’s enlightening mission and its role in shaping human potential, in line with the slogan “The University of All Iraqis.”
During the visit, the University President emphasized that attention to art and visual symbolism within the university space is an important part of building institutional identity and strengthening national belonging, encouraging the continuation of such creative initiatives that reflect the cultural and civilizational image of Tikrit University.
As part of his ongoing commitment to monitoring administrative performance and strengthening the quality of institutional work, the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, conducted an on-site inspection tour that included the departments, divisions, and units of the University Presidency within the main administration building.
During the tour, His Excellency reviewed the workflow, the level of administrative achievement, and the mechanisms for carrying out assigned tasks, stressing the importance of adhering to university regulations and instructions and working in a team spirit to contribute to achieving the university’s strategic objectives.
Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf also listened to detailed briefings from department heads and staff regarding the nature of their work and the challenges they face, directing that obstacles be addressed and the best possible working environment be provided to ensure smooth procedures and the delivery of optimal services.
He affirmed that effective administration and direct field follow-up constitute a fundamental pillar in developing institutional performance, commending the efforts of the administrative staff and calling for continued dedication and the enhancement of performance in a manner consistent with the scientific and academic standing of Tikrit University
This tour comes as part of a series of inspection visits that the University President is keen to carry out, within the framework of his vision aimed at advancing administrative work and fostering a culture of quality and excellence across all university sectors.
