On Tuesday, October 22, 2025, the Second Educational Scientific Conference kicked off under the theme “Scientific Research: A Civilized Means to Develop the Supervisory Process and Advance the Educational Reality.” The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Namas Al-Jubouri, and supervised by the General Directorate of Education in Baghdad/Al-Rusafa II. The conference will continue until October 23.
Tikrit University made a distinguished contribution to the organization of the conference through the College of Education for Pure Sciences and the College of Education for Women, in cooperation with Salahaddin University – Erbil/College of Basic Education. The event was attended by a number of researchers, academics, and educational supervisors from various educational institutions across Iraq.
Tikrit University played a prominent role in the conference’s scientific sessions, where Professor Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Jassim, Assistant Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences for Scientific Affairs, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnerships between universities and educational institutions, and adopting scientific research as a strategic tool for improving educational and supervisory performance. He also stressed the university’s commitment to supporting scientific initiatives that aim to enhance the quality of education.
The conference aims to promote a culture of scientific research within the educational environment and to enhance cooperation between universities and education directorates in order to apply research findings to improve curricula, supervision methods, and evaluation practices—all in line with Iraq’s sustainable development goals.
The conference addressed several key themes, including the role of scientific research in developing educational and supervisory processes, modern trends in educational supervision, contemporary approaches to educational evaluation, the current state and future aspirations of curricula development, as well as the role of universities in supporting and enhancing the competencies of educational supervisors.
The first day of the conference witnessed in-depth scientific discussions on the challenges facing the educational field, during which participants proposed practical, research-based solutions. All attendees emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between higher education and educational institutions to achieve meaningful and sustainable reforms.
The conference reflects the progress made in integrating academic and educational efforts and highlights Tikrit University’s leading role in supporting scientific pathways to advance education and educational supervision in Iraq.
