In a step that reflects its continued commitment to academic excellence and the enhancement of scientific research, Tikrit University has made significant progress in the QS World University Rankings: Arab Region 2025, which was officially announced in Muscat, the capital of Oman, in the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf.
According to the new results, Tikrit University has moved up from the 171–180 bracket in last year's ranking to the 161–170 bracket among Arab universities, out of 296 participating institutions — a notable step forward in regional rankings.
The university also achieved a new competitive position by ranking 119th among universities in the West Asia region, a milestone that further strengthens its standing on the Arab academic map.
Prof. Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf affirmed that this achievement is the result of the university’s ongoing institutional efforts in several key areas, including supporting scientific research, encouraging publication in reputable international databases, improving the educational environment for students and faculty, and implementing development strategies aimed at expanding academic disciplines and enhancing international cooperation, including attracting students from outside Iraq.
During the official ceremony for the release of the rankings in Muscat, the University President received a certificate of recognition marking this advancement, in a celebratory atmosphere attended by representatives of top Arab universities and global ranking experts.
Tikrit University reaffirmed its commitment to continuing efforts to improve the quality of education and scientific research, and to strive for higher positions in regional and global rankings in the coming years.
