Under the patronage of the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmood Raouf, and the supervision of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Hassan Hussein Ibrahim, with the follow-up of the Dean of the College of Political Science, Professor Dr. Qasim Alwan Saeed, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University Presidency organized, in cooperation with the Prime Minister’s Office / the National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance and the Salahuddin Health Directorate — and with the participation of reputable Arab and international universities and scientific institutions — the 10th International Hybrid Forum on Confronting Breast Cancer, titled “From Knowledge to Dignity” and held under the slogan “From Pain Comes Meaning,” in celebration of Pink October.
The forum took place at Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the university and was also held virtually via the Cancer Program, with the participation of a distinguished group of oncologists, surgeons, psychological and social specialists, biomedical researchers, academics, policymakers, civil society representatives, media professionals, and breast cancer patients and survivors.
Representing the University President, the Assistant for Scientific Affairs emphasized that Tikrit University prioritizes serving humanity and promoting health awareness, praising the national and international efforts that unite to combat breast cancer and support patients and survivors psychologically and socially.
The forum included specialized scientific lectures, discussion sessions, and awareness presentations focusing on the importance of early detection, integrated treatment, and psychological support for patients. It also showcased the latest research findings and medical practices in the field.
The event concluded with a set of scientific and awareness-based recommendations stressing the need for continued cooperation between universities, health institutions, and civil society to promote a culture of health awareness and transform knowledge into humanitarian action that upholds the dignity of patients and their right to life.
