In a new scientific achievement added to its record of academic successes, Tikrit University has attained an advanced position by ranking eighth among 69 Iraqi universities in the statistics of scientific publications in top international journals (TOP Journals), according to the Shanghai Ranking (ARWU), which is considered one of the most important and accurate global rankings for evaluating universities and scientific research.
This achievement comes as a result of the continuous support provided by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for scientific publishing, as well as a direct outcome of the university’s efforts to advance the status of scientific research across various disciplines.
In this regard, the President of Tikrit University, Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, affirmed that this progress reflects the university’s growing scientific standing and embodies the university leadership’s commitment to providing a motivating research environment and supporting researchers both financially and morally, contributing to enhancing the quality of scientific output and its publication in leading reputable international journals. He noted that this achievement would not have been possible without the great efforts exerted by the university’s researchers and their determination to adhere to international scientific standards.
The President of the University also commended the active role of faculty members and researchers, calling on all university colleges and researchers across various disciplines to continue their work and exert further scientific efforts, in a manner that enhances Tikrit University’s presence in national and international rankings and consolidates its position among leading Iraqi universities.
