Minister of Higher Education Honors Two Students from Tikrit University Among the Winners of the 2025 Higher Education Reading Award

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research honored a number of Iraqi university students who won the Higher Education Reading Award – Third Edition for 2025. Among the honorees were two students from Tikrit University who distinguished themselves with their academic presence and excellence in reading and analytical skills.

 

Alaa Al-Din Hamid Ghaib, a student from the College of Medicine at Tikrit University, won third place at the level of Iraq in recognition of his excellence in critical reading, analysis, and scientific discussion. Student Yasser Khamees Muslih from the College of Political Science – Tikrit University, was also honored for ranking 26th among the top 40 winning readers. His distinction came from his insightful reading and analysis of the book “The Problem of Culture” by Arab thinker Malik Bennabi, where he presented a mature perspective and deep understanding of the intellectual work.

 

The honoring ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf, President of Tikrit University, along with faculty members from the College of Medicine and the College of Political Science. The University President extended his warmest congratulations to the two winning students, expressing his pride in this achievement, which reflects the high academic level of Tikrit University students and enhances the university’s position in cultural and academic forums.

 

Professor Dr. Waad Mahmoud Raouf affirmed that the university continues to support initiatives that promote a culture of reading and intellectual awareness, offering students real opportunities for creativity and excellence. He also praised the intellectual energy demonstrated by the two students in this award, considering their achievement an important part of the ongoing successes of Tikrit University students.

 

The event concluded with the presentation of award shields amid wide acclaim from attendees, who emphasized that such accomplishments serve as a strong motivation for other students to strive for further academic and cultural excellence and creativity.
