The Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs conducted a field tour that included several university units. He began his tour by attending an awareness seminar organized by the College of Veterinary Medicine at Tikrit University, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center and the Salahuddin Police Command, titled:
“Rumors – Their Risks and Impact on the Individual and Society.”
The seminar was held in Dr. Muhannad Maher Hall, and its sessions were presented by Brigadier Khamees and Colonel Qassem Ibrahim Rajab from the Media and Public Relations Department of the Salahuddin Police Command, in addition to Mr. Yousif Mahmood Dawood from the “Friends of the Interior” team and the “Idea and Story” theatrical team.
The seminar covered three main themes.
The first featured a short film—produced by the “Idea and Story” team—highlighting the dangers of suicide resulting from rumors.
The second theme was an awareness theatrical performance presented by the same team.
The third theme consisted of an extensive discussion on the dangers of rumors and ways to limit their spread in society in general and within the university environment in particular, with participation from the three presenters.
As part of his tour, the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs also visited the Natural Resources Research Center, where he was received by the Center’s Director, Dr. Abdulkhalek Suleiman Khalaf. He was briefed on the progress of work in the research divisions and the center’s strategic plans.
The tour also included a visit to the Salahuddin Al-Ayoubi Center for Historical Studies, where he met with the Center’s director and staff and discussed with them the work plans and the scientific and cultural activities carried out by the center.
This field tour comes as part of the University Presidency’s efforts to develop academic and research performance and strengthen communication among the university’s various units.
