Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Adel Fawzi Shehab, President of Tikrit University  and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Farial Farouk Hussein, Dean of the College of Agriculture, the College, in collaboration with Al-Yazan Foundation for Agricultural and Environmental Development, organized its scientific symposium entitled "Biodiversity and Climate Impact".

The symposium aimed at introducing the general community to the importance of biodiversity and how to preserve the environment that it contains in a sustainable manner. "Biodiversity, which plays an important role in the global economy and diversity, gives us an opportunity to learn about the different genotypes," he said. Depends on microorganisms and plants where 70% of the world's population depends on the plants in their treatments. " For his part, Dr. Khalid Naji Abdul-Assal, lecturer in the Department of Horticulture and Garden Engineering in his lecture, stressed the importance of biodiversity and its value in terms of aesthetics, ethics and health.

Dr. Rana Hashim Aloush, Field Crops Lecturer, highlighted the obstacles facing the conservation of biological diversity, pointing out the threats and challenges facing Iraq's biological diversity, according to the United Nations Environment Program, adding that climate change and the introduction of exotic and invasive species and excessive use of pesticides and accumulation of nutrients and pollutants, Large plant status in Iraq.

On other hand, Dr. Saddam Hassan taught in the Department of Animal Production in his lecture about some types of fish scattered in Iraq and in the province of Salah al-Din and the environment and places of fish, indicating some species of fish and birds endemic and rare and threatened to extinction.
