Within the plan of continuing education seminars in College of dentistry for the academic year 2018/2019, a seminar on “The Use of Saliva as a Diagnostic Tool” was held at seminars Hall in College of dentistry in Wednesday 21/11/2018 at 9 a.m. by Assist. Prof. Intisar Jassim Mohammed/ oral diagnosis section. The seminar addressed the use of saliva samples to diagnose diseases of mouth and the rest of the body in general. She indicated that recently, research tends to the use of saliva samples for diagnosing several diseases of mouth and other organs in general. Using this way will enable us to diagnose using samples of blood groups and to easily obtain samples without causing pain to the patient or need to trained staff; in addition to the possibility of repeating it more times without costing the patient. The seminar recommended the importance of conducting research in this area to validate its possible adoption in whole or in part in the diagnosis of diseases. Dean of College of dentistry and a group of instructors and staff attended the seminar.
